What time can I drop my child off?
Bear Cubs Child Care is generally open from
7:00/7:30 – 5:30 for day time child care. Additional
hours may be scheduled as well as evening, night out,
or overnight care.
Are meals provided?
Parents have the option of bringing their own lunch and snacks,
for a discount in fees, or having meals provided.
Are naps times provided?
All children toddler age and up have one scheduled nap/rest time
per day. Infants take as many naps as they need throughout the day,
generally a morning and afternoon nap, depending on the age of the child.
Will my child go out on field trips outside the day care?
Bear Cubs Child Care does not take children off the premises.
Your child will not be put in a car and driven around on the
busy streets, and you can feel secure they
are safe here. The children get plenty of outside time, in the
fenced in yard. If there are 1 or 2 children in evening care,
we might walk to the local park.
Is there an education curriculum?
Activities are an important part of Bear Cubs Program.
There are hands-on learning activities reinforcing numbers,
colors, alphabet, arts and craft projects, science discoveries, health
and safety, small and large motor development, stories, cooking, songs, poems,
rhymes, games, and finger plays for age appropriate children. Special themes
may be scheduled including some holidays.
Are there personal cribs for each child?
Yes, each child has their own personal crib, and or sleep/rest pads.
What is your sick policy?
Bear Cubs is a “well child care” facility. At no time do I provide
sick child care. Sick children expose other children to their illness.
Are there restrictions on who may pick up my child?
Parents can list individuals other than themselves who are able to pick up
their child, on the registration form. A picture ID will be required for the person
picking up your child.
Is there a background check?
Yes, full background check information is available for viewing.
Are receipts provided?
Yes, every January, with all the tax information provided.
How do you discipline the children?
Acceptable behavior is encouraged by giving positive verbal rewards.
This reinforces a child’s good feeling about his/her behavior and serves
as an example to the children to act in such a way as to receive this praise.
Asking a child to stop and think about their behavior enables the child to
work at self-control. Depending on the situation, one warning is usually given
and the child is redirected or reminded of acceptable behavior. The next step
would be time out. This time out is not a punishment, but rather a time when the
child may calm down, remember what behavior is acceptable, and when they are
ready to rejoin the group with appropriate behavior.
Will you help toilet train my child?
Yes. It is important that we work closely together during the time we
are teaching your child, so that a consistent routine is established between
your home and the daycare.
Is there smoking allowed on the premises?
No smoking is allowed
Is they any registration fees?
No
